As a ballet lover, Swan Lake has always been a source of inspiration for me. The story of Odette and Odile, the white swan and the black swan, captures the timeless battle between good and evil. In my painting, I wanted to bring that contrast to life in a way that feels both familiar and surreal.
Odile, the Black Swan, is dark, mysterious, and dangerous—her skeletal figure contrasts sharply against Odette’s purity and grace. I’ve always been fascinated by how ballet expresses such intense emotions through delicate, precise movements. In my artwork, I aimed to highlight that duality, the delicate balance between light and shadow, life and death.
For me, the skeletons represent the fragility of life, yet their poise shows the strength and elegance of the dancers. I hope my painting resonates with ballet lovers and art enthusiasts alike, showing the dark beauty of Odile while celebrating Odette’s ethereal grace.
